The choice of a brand

Rhinoceros

Kifaru, which means rhinoceros in Swahili, which is largely spoken in Africa. Choosing the rhinoceros as a symbol for a company, and moreover a company in the shipbuilding market, may seem odd, which is why we would like to explain this choice to you as we believe that this animal has many things in common with our yachts.

Strength and Performance
This creature’s imposing and solid structure is well known to all. In fact, it is the second largest land mammal, next to the elephant,  and is not only surprisingly agile, but also very fast despite its size. Our main objective is to combine strength with high performance.

Determination and Boldness
When a rhinoceros is in danger his defence is not to flee, although he could easily do so given his speed and agility, but rather he charges towards his aggressor and shows his courage and determination, which is quite unusual.
The company Kifaru was established in 2008 during the recession with the goal of entering the shipbuilding sector, which has given so much satisfaction to its partners in the past, with the belief that the market can still have a positive reaction to the right product.

Good Luck
Dating as far back as to ancient times, horns have been associated with good luck and regarded as a symbol of fertility, virility and strength since they were used as weapons.  As a consequence, they are now used as a good luck charm to bring about these virtues and benefits to those who carry it.
The difference between Kifaru, or more specifically the African rhinoceros, and its Indian cousin is due in large part  to its two horns, rather than one. The two horns are therefore a double good omen for those who make our boats as well as for those who use them.

In Conclusion
For those who still do not see our mascot as part of the shipbuilding sector, we would like to add that the rhinoceros is also an excellent swimmer!
We hope that the rhinoceros’ excellent sense of smell will bring you to the right path.
