Aluminium core
Our boats are made completely out of aluminium alloy. There are many reasons which have influenced our decision to use this amazing material.
Malleability
Aluminium is a malleable and ductile metal (it is considered to be the second most malleable and sixth most ductile metal) and can be easily manipulated. These characteristics make it the material of choice when building custom or semi-custom boats that often require modifications, improvements or redesigning to be done. Therefore the waiting time that is often involved in producing parts which require the use of moulds is reduced. - We strive for constant improvement.
Lightweight
Aluminium is a lightweight, but resistant material. It’s specific weight is approximately one third less than steel or copper. By using this material in shipbuilding we are able to produce lighter weight hulls, compared to boats built using fibreglass and guarantee greater structural resistance.
- Built with the utmost attention to performance and safety.
Resistance and Durability
In addition to the previously mentioned strength of aluminium boats, it should also be noted that this material is highly resistant to oxidation and corrosion. Due to the combination of these characteristics, boat panels may be changed at any time, which is why our boats have a very long life.
- Made to last in time.
Environmentally Friendly
It is well known that aluminium is a completely recyclable material and that the recycling of it has been common practice since the beginning of the 19th century.
The use of this recycled material plays an important role in the aluminium industry.
The rapid growth experienced in the shipbuilding sector in the past ten years has resulted in an increasing number of boats being made in fibreglass. Yet, it still is not quite clear how to dispose of fibreglass boats when they have reached their end of life.
This is why Kifaru has chosen to produce its yachts using materials that are in large part recyclable.
- Made for future generations.
